The European Union has warned this week that it will make verdicts for punitive measures against Kosovo, which the bloc has prepared because of failing to adopt steps required to reduce tensions in the north of the state.
European Commission Enlargement General Director Jan Koopman has said on Tuesday that a set of measures are being prepared against Kosovo.
He cited the suspension of the work of all working groups for the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (MSA), the suspension of funding EU programmes, the suspension of projects by the Fund for investment in the Western Balkans, and the suspension of meetings at political levels.
However, Koopman said these measures have not been taken easily and that they can return in case Kosovo takes steps for expansion.
While, TIME correspondent in Brussels Augustin Palocaj has said the European Union is also working for a regional isolation of Kosovo.
Kosovo publicist Halil Matoshi sees these warnings too serious, saying Prime Minister Albin Kurti's stubbornness has brought the country into this situation.
Matoshi even says that if it continues as it is going so far, then the country risks transforming to “neostalinism” and “enerism”.
That is how the analyst says, alliances are jeopardised from abroad, while the internal cohesion through the police state” is ruined.
“The uncohesive and stubborn politics that Albin Kurti of the name principled, lead to neostalinism and enzyme, destroying internal cohesion through the police state and alliances from outside”, Matoshi told Periscope.
Matosh has named this whole situation “solationism classic”.
This is classical isolationism, declare war on liberal democracy and capitalist state”, the renowned analyst has said further.
European Union for Foreign Policy Special Representative Josep Borrell has said Wednesday he will seek support from member states to continue pressure on Kosovo and Serbia to relax the situation and return to normal.
If there's suspension, Borrell has warned of consequences for both states.
