In the European Union as well Friday, they said they are still waiting for the accuracy of what and how it happened to Kosovo police officers kidnapped by Serb special forces in the north. EU spokesman Peter Stano did not answer the TIME questions if the high representative, Josep Borrell, knows the outcome of the investigations as he uses the term “arrest” that Serbia uses, as well as whether the European Union will seek their unconditional release.
Asked whether Borrell already has the outcome of the investigations, as he is using the term Serbia uses or has been used for something else, this spokesman has only reiterated that the EU's stance is clear and are awaiting the results to determine what happened.
This EU spokesman has not answered even the question of whether the European Union has asked for the three police officers to be unconditionally released.
Such a call has come from the United States of America, Great Britain, but several EU states, but until now, by the EU, such formal calls as the organisation have not been heard.
EU spokesman Borrell has said once again that precisely because of continuing tensions in northern Kosovo, high representative Borrell has called the two leaders, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, to come to a meeting next week in Brussels.
This spokesman has declined to provide more details at this moment, saying details will be given at a proper time when more plans about this meeting are known.
