US Secretary Antony Blinken has answered this question during today's news conference from Oslo. He has said the US has only troops in Kosovo as part of KFOR's mission, and does not think there will be an increase of American troops in Bondsteel.
“The US already has forces there, as part of the existing mission. The extension that has been made public by NATO I don't think will include additional American forces. But as I said there's already American forces as part of NATO.”, Blinken said.
He has now said that what is most important is for the parties to de-scram, stop making unilateral moves and return to the EU-led dialogue process. Blinken has suggested that this is what the United States expects to see in the days and weeks ahead.
