The director of this clinic, Ilir Curtisha, said this number included all sorts of tumors.
“Brenda the first six months are 890 new patients, with all kinds of tumors”, he said.
Curtisaj told Front Online that within the day about 350 patients are treated.
“Brenda day to 280 patients receive treatment at the Oncology Clinic and receive daily oncology service, while about 100 patients are treated in radiation. The total number in chemotherapy and radio therapy service also amounts to 300-350 people”, he said.
So why is the number high? QKUK is managing to cover the needs of drugs.
Director Kurtishaj told Front Online that Oncology is supplied with drugs.
The situation is currently stable, we've been supplied with coca medicines well, patients are constantly receiving therapy. With minor shortages that have problems with operators or problems with marketing authorization, other drugs are all. Over 85-90% of the drugs are in the clinic”, he said.
Curtishay says the clinic is missing nurses.
He hopes that in the coming months it will ease up with the admission of young nurses.
“The doctor has enough, while accepting two nurses in the radio therapy service and we hope that in this month and next, four nurses in the medical oncology service and will greatly ease our needs for personnel”, he said.
