The natural beauty of the Bigora Shame, which lies in the Copaonic slides, is adding to KED's investment in Shala's decoupler and other branches of the distribution network.
In these mountains covered with long oak trees and high - top wind turbines, Ibry snakes on one side and Llap on the other. In view of the great super-advancing, intervention by our teams was always difficult in the event of break-up or preventative maintenance. Already, the entire new network, measuring 9 miles [9 km] long and 50 concrete pillars, is positioned across the road. This facilitates the approach of our teams in performing faster tasks and interventions.
The purpose of this investment, which will benefit some 6500 inhabitants on this side, is to provide a quality supply for each consumer and avoid unplanned interruptions.
Eliminating the current and outdated line in this area, as well as building the new line, will provide more security in supply to all our consumers at Shala. This is designed to be an extremely favorable solution, especially during the winter, where because of the snow and the influence of other atmospheric factors, disruptions were frequent and the intervention too difficult.
Such investments are indications that KED remains always committed to providing better services to the distributive network. Now 10 years, our daily commitment is the safe and quality supply of electricity. KEDS currently has over 250 investment projects in implementation throughout Kosovo.
