Zeqiri said most retired policemen are professionals, writes Reporter Online.net.
“for 2023, some 40 police officials have resigned, most of them dissatisfied with conditions and salaries. This is our concern, it must be concern for the Government, all those who are resigning are professionals. To create a professional, it takes at least 5 years”, Dukagini RTV said.
On the other hand, he criticised the Government for halting the surplus risk for all police officials.
He said we all pride ourselves on Kosovo police officers, but that they are not being met by basic conditions.
We're all proud, people, both state and government. Despite the demands, an additional requirement has been given us in recent months, that the additions of job risk since the implementation of the pay law are not being paid. This has happened since February, every month we've been promised to do this, they're going to retroactively place it. We have applied to the prime minister that risk extensions be paid, because there is no logic, that a police official, there is no risk. Every police official has a legal obligation to intervene in 24 hours, even when he's on time. Disaction is a criminal offence for us”, he said.
The head of the Kosovo Police Union, Zeqiri, said they are in touch with police officials who freely express their frustrations.
Meanwhile, it said that because of tensions in the north, they have not taken union action.
