Thus has Kosovo Police spokesman for the Mitrovica region Veton Elshani confirmed.
We didn't have any incidents last night, but today the situation is quiet”, he said.
A day earlier, in the north police have discovered a large quantity of weapons in a Serbia license vehicle.
“Thanks to the intense commitment of the Kosovo Police specialised units and the information/intelligence accepted, today a Belgrade license plate car, about 100m from the Zvecan municipality, in which large quantities of weapons, explosives and ammunition, included Zola, Osa, explosives, significant quantities of ammunition, shock-bomba, military uniforms and bag”, the Police report said.
In the announcement made by police, it is stressed that all these tools were intended and serve for the realisation of terrorist attacks on citizens and institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.
“This is also a next testimony that Serbia through such groups and organisations aims to destabilise our country”.
Tensions in the north have taken place since the day young Albanian mayors took office. Local Serbs have staged violent protests, where many KFOR soldiers, policemen, journalists and cameramen have been injured.
