Borrell warns before the summit: Those who contribute to suspension will have cost

European Union for Foreign Policy Special Representative Josep Borrell has said he will seek support from member states to continue pressure on Kosovo and Serbia to relax the situation and return to normal.

If there's suspension, Borrell has warned of consequences for both states.

The EU representative has said that today the European Council will announce among other leaders of Western states, even tensions in northern Kosovo.

“will announce leaders for all the work of these days. And he will seek the support of continuing to pressure the parties to avoid the transition and return to normal. Member states have decided at the Council's latest meeting, which measures must be taken, economic and political, it becomes clear that if they don't contribute to suspension, then there will be costs”, Borrell said.

The situation in the north continues to be tense since late May, when Albanian mayors raided municipal buildings in four northern municipalities.
