Borrell: To do everything for new elections in the north, member states will take steps if needed

Borrell said the foreign ministers want to find a solution for the crisis in the north and said that after Serbia released the three Kosovo police officers, the next step is to do everything to hold the new elections.
He said the <x0 member states will take measures if necessary”, the Express reports.
“Member States remain ready to take action if progress is not seen”, Borrell stressed.
“We agreed that elections should be held”, Borrell said, among other things, at a media conference after discussing with EU foreign ministers, and mentioned that Serbs should participate.
The other “choice could come only from new elections. And that's what both sides should do”, he said.
Borrell said member states have underlined “strong concerns” for continued tensions in the north.
“Member States, I want to stress, member states underline strong concerns about continued tensions in northern Kosovo”, the Kurdish top diplomat said, broadcasting their demand for the extension of the situation.
He also cited the need to implement all obligations from the dialogue.
Borrell has reported ahead of the Union's top diplomats on the recent developments between Kosovo and Serbia following meetings he had a week before with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq in Brussels
