So Blinken declared after meeting Chinese leader Xi Yinging on Monday, stressing that curbing China's economy is not an American goal.
We do not support Taiwan's independence. We remain opposed to any unilateral change in the status quo from each side”, Blinken said.
As, writes “Forbes”, Blinken has indicated that all his meetings with senior officials in China were constructive and reiterated that competition between US China should not be “ran in conflict”.
Taiwan views itself as different from the Chinese continent, with its constitution and elected leaders, while Beijing views it as a rebel province of China.
These Blinken statements come after it seemed that the American administration in charge of the president, Joe Biden, had left Washington's policy “One China”.
