Finance Minister Iron Murati said he is unaware of any list of sanctions from the United States and the European Union.
Those comments he made after the government's meeting, when asked about reports that the US and the EU are considering two phases of measures towards Kosovo if they do not comply with their demands for suspension of the situation in the north, including sanctions against Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Interior Minister Jelal Svechla.
Murati confirmed that if sanctions were already discussed, then it would be discussed sanctions that would have to be imposed on Serbia, as continued violations of the agreements have said.
On the other hand, he has added that legitimacy should prevail throughout the country.
“I'm not aware of any such list and I can't answer the issue, the points we all have to agree to is that legitimacy prevails throughout the country”
“If it were to be discussed on possible sanctions, it would be discussed what sanctions would have to be imposed on Serbia's state because it has consistently violated the agreements that we agreed on as a party, starting with the latter, the signed or agreed agreement in Ohrid, which the Serbian side refused to sign and the flagrant violations it has made, starting with voting against and lobbies to vote against other states, to advance membership in the Council of Europe, so consider what it would have to worry us about, what it would have to be, what sanctions to impose, or the Serbian Constitution to put the state<.
The first phase of sanctions would envision freezing EU funds, the visa liberalisation process, the Council of Europe accession process, US funds and other Western projects.
The second phase would envision Kosovo's allies taking passive approaches to Serbia's campaign for recognition, as well as re-organising the international military presence and seriously reducing the American contingent and excluding Kosovo from certain international organisations.
It has also been warned that there may be sanctions on Kurt and Svecla. Both can be declared <x0non-free with the reasoning that they are a threat to security and peace”.
The document says that “transatlantic community has a vital need not to allow a crisis centre behind contact lines with Russia... With the launch of the Franco-German plan, there was the conviction that problems would arise with the Serbian side, both a stubborn and unconstructive side. ”
It also says that “nobody expected the Government of Kosovo would be what, by its actions, would promote uncertainty and promote crisis and conflicts”.
According to the text, the Western community has lost patience and requires a clear response from the Government of Kosovo, whether or not it is a partner of the transatlantic community”.
It says that being a partner means the unconditional fulfillment of all obligations and “failure to do so means the effect”.
The document has criticised Government and the opposition. “have failed to understand deeply the seriousness of the situation and the real danger for Kosovo”, it says, according to “Euronews Albania”. A clear and declarative position has been required for the opposition whether or not it is for the fulfillment of Kosovo's obligations in the dialogue. The fact that the opposition does not do so promotes distrust and opportunism”, the document said.
At the end of the text, it says that “if Kosovo fails to fulfil its obligations, risks its future”.
A European Commission spokesman has said that “does not comment on such leaks, and in particular, those said to be a third country's alleged documents regarding the EU's alleged actions”.
