Arrests for playing basketball, FBK comes with an important announcement

The FBK is ready to co-operate with justice to clear the case as soon as possible, Periscopi requested.

The media have already circulated the names of two people arrested under suspicion of setting up, referring to basketball reference Daut Mehmeti and coach Arbnor Rifati.

Kosovo Basketball Fund “ (FBK) announces all sports opinion, which is closely co-operating with institutions and law bodies over recent arrests reported in the media.

We have immediately reported to the Council for Prevention of Violence and Warnings at the Sports Events founded by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, the Kosovo Police and the State Prosecutor as soon as we were told, we have taken all necessary measures to co-operate with the law bodies since last year, and we have taken the necessary measures to initiate and develop internal disciplinary procedures on persons who were present, all the time and close co-ordination with the FIBA.

The FBK welcomes rule-organ decisions and hopefully in quick resolution of the case and bringing all persons involved in negative phenomena to justice in our sport.

As witnessed in every instance, the Kosovo Basketball Federation will fight hard and decisively every negative phenomenon in our sport, engaging as always in ensuring the integrity of our races.

In spirit of that, the FBK is the first sports institution in the country to engage also the Person for Integrity, with a mandate to fight these phenomena and all the negative aspects in our basketball, as well as develop several campaigning against negative phenomena in basketball.

We pledge fair play and will fight these phenomena to the end!
