Analyst: Escobar, Lajcak to help calm the situation in the north

They are also praising that the European proposal for the body of new elections in four northern municipalities in Kosovo will also contribute to calming the situation.
Analyst Fidan Ukaj told Kosovo Press that their visit will have great influence to calm the situation in the country's north. According to him, even at the country's presidential meeting, Vjosa Osmani with Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq has had an agreement on how to get out of this situation.
Analyst Dritoro Arifi has said that pressure from the United States and the European Union has affected the decompression of the situation in the country's north.
Arifi said that the arrival of Escobar and Lajcak will lead the issue in what new elections will be held.
While, in terms of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Arifi has said that the way the EU is leading the dialogue is telling Serbia and Russia that the Kosovo issue is politically unfinished.
The European Union's special envoy for dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Miroslav Lajcak, and US Special Envoy for the Balkans Gabriel Escobar, will visit Pristina and Belgrade on Monday and Tuesday.
Their visit will be aimed at finding a solution to get out of the current situation, which risks damaging all that the EU considers a success in dialogue. So the focus will first be on reducing tensions and continuing efforts based on what has been proposed after the meeting in Moldova.
In Moldova, on June 1st, leaders of Germany and France, Olaf Scholz and Emmanuel Macron have urged Kosovo and Serbia to hold new elections in municipalities in northern Kosovo, during their meeting with the presidents of the two countries, Vjosa Osmanin and Aleksandar Vucinqi.
Otherwise, the country's president, Vjosa Osmani, has said that elections can be held in the north, respecting laws in power.
Serbian protesters are rejecting the entry of Albanian mayors into municipal buildings. The situation in these municipalities has been tense Friday 26 May, when sworn mayors have been forced to enter their working offices under the assistance of the Kosovo Police. On Monday (29) masked protesters, but even those without masks, have exerted violence on KFOR members, Kosovo Police and journalists. They've thrown different items towards peacekeepers, until they have damaged and burned KFOR cars, police and the media.
As a result of tensions there, the European Union, through high representative for foreign policy, Josep Borrell, has submitted three requests for de-excelling the situation in the north.
