American professor calls Kurtin “axisor of violence”

American professor Edward P. Joseph has dedicated a long writing to the recently created situation in Kosovo, from tensions to warnings of sanctions against Kurti Government. The opinion you can find in “Foreign Policy”, he called it “The US is creating a crisis in Kosovo”. What did the noted professor say? [...]

Initially, Joseph has criticism of Kurti as well as Vuciqi, but also of the European Union and the United States of America.

It cites Kurt's refusal to listen to Allied demands, “welcomes” of these to Vuciki, as well as warnings of sanctions.

The “instead of looking at autonomy strategically as Zelensky would, and as Russian President Vladimir Putin does, the officials of the Biden administration are as dogmatic as the Kosovo prime minister who has drawn the wrath of the West. ”

Sanctions

In his writing, he speaks of sanctions, where, amid lines, the Kosovo police operation in the north calls “premature”.

The “de frustrated with Kosovo's prime minister for failing to submit his terms for establishing association, and angry at his recent, reckless special police operation in Kosovo's Serb-dominated north, the Biden administration has already punished Kosovo and is ready to inflict more pain. ” says American professor.

In addition, it is mentioned that Prime Minister Kurti's refusal to listen to the demands of the United States and the European Union until the mention of a five - point plan he made today.

“Leaving the pressure, Kurti has so far rejected US and EU demands to withdraw the special unit from the north, to remove the mayors from northern municipalities and move towards new elections. Kurti insists that Serbs attacked NATO and the Kosovo Police on May 29th, and must be brought to justice as part of the prime minister's five-point plan to reduce tensions. To hammer out another boycott of Serbian elections, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, who strongly supports Kurti's approach, has proposed that at least 20 per cent of voters sign a petition. ” writes away, passes Nacional.

Frozen Allie

Prime Minister Kurti's actions have exacerbated the US, and according to Joseph, Washington's desire to decide sanskione is “understandable”.

“With his defence, Kurti has exacerbated the United States, Kosovo's most important ally, opposed the Serb population in Kosovo, and has promoted Serbian President Aleksander Vuciq, just as autocrats facing unprecedented internal protests. Washington's desire to impose sanctions on Kosovo is understandable. ” he said.

But the desire for sanctions, according to him, is also a serious “malpractice”, blaming the Westerners here for the entire situation.

It's also a serious error. Washington and Brussels share the blame for the crisis, including the Serb violence against NATO peacekeeping troops. The devotion of sanctioning a Democrat ally in Pristina, and supporting a pro-rus and manipulative autocrat like “Best partner”, as Ambassador Hill said, should give Secretary Antony Blinken a pause.” he said.

Edward Joseph has now criticised the US and the EU, even about the Ohrid meeting, where Vuciq did not promise that Serbs will return to institutions and come to the elections:

There is no doubt that Kurti, clearly ignoring the co-ordinated demands of the US and NATO, is an accessory to violence. Unfortunately, so are EU and US emissaries, led by European top diplomat Josep Borelli. In March, the United States and the EU allowed Vuciqi to leave Ohrid, where negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia were held, without a commitment for Serbs to return to Kosovo institutions and participation in the election for mayor”.

The US's behaviour to Pristina, considering “as enemy”, does not ease the situation, nor does it bring stability, the renowned professor says.

In summary, it will take more than enough sanctions to make you feel good, for the US to withdraw from a crisis that the US and Brussels helped create. Claiming that the United States is an international partner, an enemy in Pristina, will neither ease the situation in the north, nor bring to stability.” he wrote in his published opinion.

What should Blinken do?

All in the end, Joseph has some advice for US Secretary Antony Blinken, who he says should take over American politics in the Balkans.

For the start, the Benden administration must discipline “its ambassadors to the region, with “shortcoming” Hill's evacuations in the policies of a country, Kosovo, which is no longer part of Serbia.” ♫ It advises.

Blinken, according to him, should clearly show how the United States stands in this whole situation, and that the message should also be conveyed to Balkan leaders.

“Blinken should give a speech considered deep in US politics in Serbia, Kosovo and throughout the region. Blinken must restore democratic values to the centre as the core of US politics and partnership with Europe. He must lead the emissaries and his ambassadors to deliver this message to Balkan leaders, including Vuciqi. ”- he said.

Blinken, is advised to make another visit, but not to the region.

“Blinken should continue with a visit, not to the region, but to Athens, Bratislava, Bucharest, Madrid, the four capitals holding the key to Kosovo's advancement...” Has Joseph said.

At the end of his opinion, he writes the following:

“Blinken must complete his trip to Brussels, with Borell and Lajcak. He should remind these diplomats that the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia bears the name of the EU.

In this way, Blinken will bring the United States and the EU back from confusing and crisis, to the envoy a signal to Moscow a destination for the Balkans to consolidate within the West, along with Ukraine”.
