“President (Turk) (Recep Tayip) Erdogan is a leader who can convince troubled parties in the Balkans to come to the table and find sustainable solutions for problems in the region”, Abazovic said as he attended a forum in Istanbul on Sunday, TRT reported.
“I think Turkey's mediating role in tension between Kosovo and Serbia is very important”, he told reporters during the Youth Organisation for Islamic Co-operation.
As a “upperpower”, Turkey maintains friendly relations with the whole world, Abazovic said, adding that all steps Turkey will take in global diplomacy are valid for both the countries of the region and the Balkans.
Montenegrin Prime Minister also stressed that Turkey has begun playing an effective role in the Balkans as much as in the European Union and the US.
“I hope President Erdogan will be more involved in problems in the Balkans. This is extremely important for ensuring peace and stability in the region”.
