A KFOR command today has put a message before protesters in Zvecan.

“KFOR suffered 90+ casualties in our commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all communities”, was written on the banner he put before the sieges set for protesters, reports T7.

Serbs in Zvecan are protesting for the 13th day in a row. Today, however, a small number were seen sitting under tents.

Yesterday KFOR has called a media conference where it spoke about the situation in the north and the potential risk of casualties.

KFOR spokesman Andrea Gallien said KFOR troops in the north have prevented the passage of the situation from protests on May 29th because there was danger to life and for someone to be killed. He added that during the protest, many soldiers have been hurt by fired stones, improvised explosive devices and the use of weapons.

According to him, it was clear that there were people who wanted to protest peacefully, but that criminal groups behind them were hiding that wanted to attack KFOR troops.

“On behalf of KFOR Commander Angelo Michele Ristuccia, we are pleased to bring in the container because their intervention between the parties avoided a major problem between Serbs and Albanians because there could be life-dangering problems and that someone might even be killed”.
