This association says it is alarmed at the situation facing journalists reporting from these municipalities.
The AGK has asked competent bodies to take steps to create a safe environment for reporting.
The Kosovo Journalists' Association is alarmed by the situation our colleagues are found reporting from the municipality, so we ask competent bodies to take steps to create a safe environment for reporting from that area”.
“Once upon a time, we urge all colleagues to be careful to add and in no way risk themselves for the sake of reporting”, says the AGK response in which the statistics of attacks on journalists, cameramen and media have reported from northern municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo
The AGK also says that each attack on journalists is an attack on public interest and the rights of all citizens.
According to the Kosovo Police only today have nine journalists been attacked in Leposaviq, where some of them, apart from concerns, have suffered various injuries, as well as accepted medical treatment.
Journalist Astrit Gashi, responsible for journalists' safety, has made Kosovo police.
Kosovo Police are the first responsibility for public order and security in Kosovo. If we have sovereignty and police presence in the north, as the government said, then the first link I have to offer to the citizens is the Kosovo Police. Not the army, not KFOR, not KSF, let's get it.
Police Special Units today are guarding buildings, outside of their professional mandate, and they can't offer public security, which also have a warrant!
If the government today tells us that the north does not secure and patrol Kosovo Police, but KFOR then the accuser finger should be directed to KFOR, and the government of the first that they haven't protected journalists while the two have lied to us. But then we renounce the constitution and the extent of sovereignty.
Reporters, in the meantime, have remained in the hands of rampant criminals and without anyone's protection! /Periscopi/
