Izmir Zeqiri, chairman of Zubin Potok, has said that today, Tuesday, he will not go to office, nor will he nor Ilir Peci, the chairman of Zvecan, because of the created and uncoordinated situation with the US and the EU.
In an interview with Albanian Post, he said the two mayors of municipalities in the north from PDK ranks would not go to the office.
“Neither I nor I, Ilir Peci, chairman of Zvecan, will go to office because of the created situation and co-ordinated with international partners”, he said.
Zeqiri also stated that American Ambassador Jeff Hovenier has rebuked them for their hasty steps.
“He was a little bit concerned, and he even rebuked the ambassador for quick steps and the use of force, because they had not seen force used to be used that way, but that's what happened and we tried to show our concerns to the American ambassador and representatives of the EU office in Kosovo”, Zeqiri said.
He called it a quick step, why? We showed the ambassador that today or tomorrow those offices belonging to the citizens, the Republic of Kosovo, to return to them, not to be held hostage and expelled from the criminal organs as we call them, even though we know who they are, the Serb list, for us they're usurped, there can be no normal functioning of administration if municipalities are possessed by a state or such a <x1 structure, he said.
The U.S. Ambassador insists that we operate from those offices where we swore, so that there should be no violent, police-forced, similar steps, that's what we talked about. But now let's see how we decide and act. We agreed that we would willingly go to the municipal administration offices, to function normally, but since there are problems now, we said, to the ambassador, that problems are causing Serbian criminal gangs by scaring them, raping majority citizens themselves there and convincing them to act on them. These topics were discussed with the ambassadors, but they were also informed of these things, but yet he called this a hasty step we did”, Zeqiri said.
