Von Croamon: Kosovo continues to prove its democratic capacities

The rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Violet von Cromon, has said significant results have been achieved in the area of fighting corruption and organised crime throughout the country. According to her, Kosovo is continuing to testify to its democratic capacities. These were told at the session where the report on Kosovo was discussed for the year [...]
The Eurodeput has added that the report examines Kosovo's reforms and achievements, where Europe is finally opening doors and citizens will be able to travel without visa requirements.
The sentence for Kosovo reports was held every year since 2019, hoping that I could finally say, "Basing freedom of movement," this is no longer a requirement or hope, is a reality, since January of next year Kosovo citizens will be able to travel across Europe without any visa requirements, invitation papers, costly procedures, or waiting in line, Europe is finally opening its doors. Last year was a challenging year for everyone. As we saw the horrors of the war returning to Europe, the Government of Kosovo, well knowing these horrors, demonstrated full solidarity with Ukraine, lined up with EU sanctions and even welcoming Ukrainian journalists, for what I wish to thank you deeply”, Cromon has said.
On the other hand, Von Croamon stressed that the report underlines the successes and steps that should be taken in the field of democracy.
Our “Report affects only the face of challenges and issues awaiting Kosovo, but clearly highlights the successes and what needs to be undertaken in the field of democracy, the fight against corruption, organised crime, energy and the environment. So I'm going to describe only three main processes, rule of law, media freedom, facilitated dialogue by the EU, and energy transition. Kosovo continues to prove its democratic capacities by having a pluralistic political landscape, which is demonstrated by free and fair elections. The media landscape is also diverted compared to other states in the region, but it is important that journalists remain independent. Significant results have been achieved in the area of the fight against corruption and organised crime throughout Kosovo”, Cramon has added, reports the KP, broadcasts Klakosova.tv.
Von Croamon stated that the five non-recognitional countries of the European Union must change their approach to Kosovo in order to have long-term stability in the Western Balkans.
It's important that we continue to pressure Spain, Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, because for the stability of our continent it will be important how we conduct ourselves against our neighbours even in the Western Balkans, and what's important is to look at our history, and if we look at the history we know that I can say it as German, because we have to do a lot of research in our history. And it's important that we do this job, so that we can achieve stability”, there's Cromon.
The rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Violet Von Cremon, has added that there is a need for private sector support and young people to have prospects.
In the afternoon, Eurodepute Von Croamon will hold media conference concerning the Commission's report on Kosovo.
