Naples's prosecutor, Maurizio De Marco, had searched for the Nazi player born in 1992, 4 years and 10 months in prison during his indictment. The facts that Izzo was convicted of date since he played at Serie B for Avellino. The central legal match is Modena-Avellino, played on May 17, 2014.
Izzo's cousin, Umberto Accurso, head of the Mafia clan “Vinella Grasci of Secondigliano”, and Salvatore Russo, believed to be linked to the same clan, were also sentenced, both to a year and a half in prison. The football agent described the charges as untrue and said the name IZZo would be cleared very soon.
