He has said they are serious accusations and it takes time to make further investigations before the defence team's questions begin.
After Kehoe lawyer's motion for the time he needs with the client, the chief judge, Charles L. Smith has said they will have time today all one hour with their clients, writes the KP.
“We made a verification now, we'll give you an hour today, all of you will have one hour with the customers in the afternoon. So, half an hour we're going to eat after half an hour, and an hour you can spend with them and through the Administrative Office, at any moment you can take the time you need and that will be done. You can also discuss it through the ʹZoom app with the client in prison if you don't want to discuss it physically there. So there are different possibilities you can use from today to Friday. As far as I can tell, it's only about your questions at this point -- ”, Smith said.
But, the defence of former President Hashim Thaci, lawyer Gregory Kehoe, has indicated that Thaci has demanded that during Friday they discuss the issue.
“Klient asked me, if we can talk about this Friday, there's a lot we want to discuss. I also understand the concern of time, but as you know, these are serious issues and serious accusations. And that's why we need more than an hour to discuss with the client”, the defense attorney said.
On the other hand, Kehoe said before the court that he needs to do other investigations and that he needs the time needed before the questioning began.
Otherwise, listening to the fourth witness is continuing in private session.
In addition to a brief part of the second witness, other hearings in this court process have been conducted entirely at private hearings.
The trial against former KLA leaders has started on April 3rd with the parties' opening statements, the newspaper Express writes.
Before the court, Thaci, Veselin, Selimi and Krasniqi have pleaded innocent to charges of alleged war crimes.
They are located at The Hague detention centre since November 2020.
