Tear gas and shots fired in Zvecan

Kosovo police used tear gas and shock-bombs to disperse citizens assembled before the municipal object in Zvecan-based Serb-run municipality in the northern part of the country.
Similarly, police announced that they were assisting the new mayors of northern municipalities: Zvecan, Leposaviq and Zubin Potok, to enter the official sites of the respective municipalities.
The leaders of these Serb-run municipalities all Albanians were sworn in the previous day in public buildings, such as schools, because of security.
Although they said that, soon, they would start working on municipal facilities, it was not clear when such a step would be taken.
In all four Serb-run municipalities in the north, alarm sirens were first heard, while citizens were gathered before municipal facilities in Zubin Potok, Zvecan and Leposaviq.
