Only 51 vehicles participated in this parade, according to a count made by the BBC and confirmed by other analysts.
This is considerably lower than last year when 131 vehicles were involved and 197 were in 2021. Meanwhile, about 8,000 troops attended.
The most surprising was the sight of a lonely tank, and it was a T-34 museum piece dating back to World War II. The eagle - eyed audience could see two others parked outside the main square, evidently as a reserve in case of an avarie.
The tank was followed by a number of light vehicles, armoured personnel carriers, and rocket drivers.
