Switzerland assumes presidency of UN Security Council

Theoretically one of the most powerful organs in the world, the Security Council is currently in crisis. For 2023 and 2024 Switzerland will take this task together with Malta. Member States assume the presidency in alphabetical order for a month each.
After May 2023, Switzerland will assume the presidency for the second time in October 2024. As the leading country, Switzerland must head Security Council meetings at UN headquarters in New York.
