Periscop's journalist in the north, reports that Goran Rakiqi of the Serbian List, has tried for the third time conversations with KFOR about the request to withdraw Kosovo Police from the municipality's object.
As reported, KFOR has told Rakiqi that the Kosovo Police have not accepted leave.
So far, the calm situation is reported, but a series of attacks on journalists' teams have taken place during the day, including Periscope's team.
Mission NATO in Kosovo has announced that with its staff it is working to ease the situation in the north, as well as that it is in contact with Kosovo institutions and Serbia's Armed Forces.
In a communiqué to the media, KFOR said it has increased presence in northern Kosovo municipalities “to ensure a safe environment for freedom of movement”.
KFOR's “Commander and staff are working to ease the situation and are in touch with all sides, including representatives of institutions and security organisations in Kosovo and with Serbia's Armed Forces. Media reports of a meeting with Goran Rakicin are groundless, as well as claims that KFOR commander has made any warning of shooting in Zvecan”, said in the communique. /Periscopi/
