Three Italian KFOR soldiers are in serious condition after the unrest in Zvecan.
Melon has said attacks on KFOR will not be further tolerated as he has indicated the injuries of KFOR soldiers in Kosovo.
But it has also asked the Kosovo government not to take unilateral action.
In my name and on behalf of the Government, I express my most sincere feelings of proximity to Italian soldiers injured during the riots in Kosovo. Express also my strongest conviction for the attack against the KFOR mission, including soldiers from other nations. What is happening is absolutely unacceptable and irresponsible”, she said.
” We will not tolerate further attacks on KFOR. It is essential to avoid further unilateral actions by Kosovo authorities and that all parties involved immediately take a step back, contributing to easing tensions. The Italian government's commitment to peace and stability in the Western Balkans is maximum and we will continue to work with our allies. I confirm my proximity to the Italian Army and the government's strong gratitude for extraordinary professionalism and the praiseworthy spirit of service they show in all circumstances”, Italy's chief minister has declared.
