Former inspector-in-chief in AKI, Burim Ramadani, spoke of his initiative for information, obtaining the activity of the Russian Spyage Centre in Serbia, which affects security in Serbia and the region.
He briefly spoke of his initiative with two technology field professionals who have made it possible to identify via video recordings of basic data in two languages, English and Albanian for foreign audiences, to raise awareness of the danger that could come to the region through Serbia, which identified Russia's goals to destabilise the region and beyond.
Our goal is to document before the Western opinion who is Russia's cat here in the Balkans”, Ramadan said in Info Plus, at RTK.
He further clarified how the priority issue for us is the report in Serbia, while for the West as the main issue is security at a broader level, such as war in Ukraine.
In this regard, Ramadani added that turning away the attention in Ukraine, the situation in the Balkans and separately in Kosovo would affect extremely negatively in terms of security.
It is important that we once again turn attention to the Kosovo issue into international circles, through public diplomacy campaign”, Ramadani said.
In this regard, Ramadani explained that this institution, although called humanitarian, is understandable that it has nothing to do with this issue, because it is known, this institution was founded by current Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu.
Serbia has also provided Russia with the security database, which greatly impacts the security of other countries in the region”, Ramadani said.
He further noted that it is necessary that the countries of the region who are also members of NATO, but also through the EU to ask Serbia to close the Russian spying centre in Nis.
Ramdan said that the idea could be launched by Kosovo and embraced by other countries in the region, because they are common concerns for the region's security.
“Priority for national security for the country's institutions must remain as the main one. There are stages where Kosovo must be more active, along with the countries in the region, that the security level will be more satisfactory”, Ramadani said, among other things.
According to him, the Russian Spy Centre in Nis has also had an impact on the country's security in northern Kosovo municipalities.
Meanwhile, KSF participation in NATO exercises -- Ramadani -- praised it as extremely important, first the Kosovo Army -- through this activity -- testifies that it is willing to provide security, not only that it is consumer and security. While as another important element for the KSF is the establishment of a level that has to do with military interaction between armies, such as communication, procedures, standards, etc., enabling KSF participation in any other country along with other NATO armies. While the other benefit from the KSF is that infantry gets validation from NATO.
“So KSF moves into the second phase of military advancement from NATO”, Ramadani noted, while adding that the management of security institutions to continue co-operation at the bilatheral level with the US, but also multilatheral, with other NATO countries.
The start of the oath by the chairman of northern Mitrovica may also be a kind of test, but it is not necessary that all the mayors swear on the same day, but that one must be careful not to miss the legal term of their oath to mayors, that, on the contrary, they may lose the mandate and go back to the elections.
Ramadani further said caution must be taken so that unnecessary incidents are not caused and the laws of the Kosovo Constitution are implemented.
The important “is for Kosovo to encourage the Serb community to participate in domestic institutions”, Ramadani said.
And for the oath of mayors in northern municipalities, Ramadani said it is important not the Parliament, as he added that Serbs from local institutions have not removed Kosovo, neither the Kosovo Police, but Vuciqi, Dacic, etc.
Kosovo's <x0 think-tanks should be careful in relation to internationals, so that no attention can be taken elsewhere, whether in Serbia or elsewhere, although they are able to do their job, but it is political issue”, Ramadani said in the end.
