The security situation in Zvecan, Leposavic and Zubin Potok is currently calm, Kosovo Police say.
We don't have any incidents that we recorded. Police are carrying out their duties according to commitments they have”, says Veton Elshani from this institution for Radio Free Europe.
According to him, police officials are continuing to stand near three municipal buildings in northern Kosovo.
On May 29th, Serbian protesters clashed in Zvecan with KFOR peacekeeping forces.
As a result of the clashes, at least 25 KFOR members have been injured, as have some protesters.
Local Serbs are rejecting entry into the municipality of new Albanian mayors elected in the April 23rd elections. They are also demanding that Kosovo Police Special Units withdraw from the Serb-populated north.
The international community has strongly condemned the Kosovo government's decision that new mayors go to municipal offices on May 26th, when tensions arose.
