Pleasant inside and outside Kosovo for naming “avactes” of the VV in the KPM, considered media capture

Despite the European Federation of Journalists' calls for the failure of supporters of the Vetevendosje Movement for further KPM non-politicalisation, Kosovo Assembly deputies today voted for KPM members Luljeta Aliun. Such a decision was not well received by foreign and local organisations as well as by the opposition who [...]
By 48 votes for Luljeta Aliu was elected a member of the Independent Media Commission.
“With 48 votes, the member election Lulitta Aliu, while for candidates proposed for the election of two members, out of four candidates, could not elect any members. No one has reached the number of 46 votes, as necessary to elect a member of the KPM”, Konjufca said.
Reactions to this appointment took place inside and abroad on the Government's decision.
The European Centre for Media Freedom reacted after the decision, saying Ali cannot be considered independent as long as he has vocally supported Vetevendosje.
“Aliu has openly, regularly and publicly supported Vetevendosje Movement and its politics. In no way can it be considered independent. We regret to see this development, as it conflicts with the process of depoliticisation of the KPM that the VV has started”, it says in response.
In turn, they said that this decision would be forwarded to the Council of Europe and the Parliamentary Assembly, as they say such a decision would have a major impact on KPM independence.
Even the Kosovo journalists' association has reacted to the government's decision, saying today's decision is the ruling party's effort to capture independent media.
“Voting by the ruling party, the Vetevendosje Movement of its government's public policy lawyer, openly shows the ruling party's intensity to bring independent media institutions to control”, the AGK's response said.
It is also said in response that the decision conflicts with the media's intention to work independently and without being influenced by anyone.
The Independent Media Commission must maintain political and party independence to carry out the undisputed work for monitoring and overhauling the audio-visual stage in Kosovo. The appointment of Mrs. Aliu conflicts with this effort, and can contribute to the anti-media climate this government has created, in many cases in the last two years”, concludes the AGK's response.
Even the opposition leader, Memli Krasniqi considered the decision to capture the media, saying the Government testified it was on a mission to pay for free speech.
With the appointment of Luljeta Aliou as a member of the Independent Commission for Media, an declared political militant of Vetevendosje, this Government has once again testified that it is on a mission to undermine free speech by targeting media capture. ”, he wrote on Facebook.
On the other hand, he said that until now, media have been hampered only by Ottoman and failed governments.
The “Media, up to this day, has prevented only autocratic governments and, of course, failed governments, which, apart from proximity and degradation, produce nothing else.”, said the first PDK.
Taking over the media decision saw Krasniqi's co-ordination, PDK Parliamentary Group chief Abelard Tahiri, as well.
He said the decision completes the VV's goal of capture free media.
Vetevendosje's approach to apprehending the free and separate RTK media as a public broadcaster, after the Board of References, was completed today in the Assembly with the appointment of Luljeta Aliu, a political militant of Vetevendosje Movement, as a member of the Independent Commission for Media.”, Tahiri wrote on Facebook. /Reporter
