As media reports in Serbia, he has said a letter signed by Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, who defends the state of Serbia, was attached to the Declaration of Missing Persons.
“The text of the statement on missing persons has been adopted, which was previously agreed to at the technical level. The important thing is that prior to the adoption of the text of the declaration a declaration signed by President Aleksandar Vuciq, where important issues concerning the term mentioned in the Declaration of Missing Persons have been clarified. This statement confirms that we have defended the interests of Serbia's state when it comes to this matter”, Petkoviqi said, broadcasts Klankosova.tv.
On the other hand, he stressed that Serbia's state for more than two years has insisted on adopting that statement.
Meanwhile, he added that Kosovo has been the one that has been holding back all the time and that doesn't want to reach agreement “because it insists on the term "enforced several-appeareance" -- that is, the term defined at point 2 of the International Convention for violent disappearance”.
“... have deliberately insisted on this term so that you can refer to it and seek responsibility from Belgrade when it comes to violent extinction. We didn't agree with that term. This is clearly highlighted in this statement. We've already agreed and agreed and what entered the text of the declaration is the term missing under obligation. This is not a legal construct and it does not include any responsibility of the Serbian state in the judicial sense, but it simply shows the circumstances in which a person or a designated person has disappeared”, Petkoviqi stressed.
