Spanish police say four young people were arrested after allegedly hanging a Winnicius figure on a bridge in Madrid in January, while three others were arrested on suspicion that they were involved in racist insults directed at the Brazilians during Sunday's match against Vallencia.
Both incidents are being treated as hate crimes, reports “CNN”
The first incident had occurred on January 26th near Real's training centre prior to Copa del Rey's quarterfinal match against Atletico Madrid.
Meanwhile, in the second case, there are three members of an ultra-group who in the past were classified as high-risk “persons by police, who could bring violence to sports.
The three arrested in the “Mestallas” incident in Valencia are between the ages of 18 and 21, while they were arrested at three different locations.
Winnitius has been the subject of racist abuse by fans in the Tribuna on several occasions at the last two seasons in La Ligas' games, with the freshest chance he went on Sunday.
