Former Kosovo Police official Dejan Pantic was arrested in early December last year as the prime suspect of an attack on Kosovo Central Election Commission offices in the Northern Mitrovica municipality and Zubin Potok.
His arrest produced tensions in the northern part. Citizens there placed barricades on main roads leading to border crossings with Serbia, Jarinje and Brnjak.
Barricades were removed after several weeks, but only when the court replaced Pantic, the measure of detention with that of house arrest.
