As the Presidency reports, recent developments in the northern Republic of Kosovo have been discussed at the meeting.
Osmani has stressed that criminal acts in the north orchestrated by Belgrade-backed illegal structures are aimed at preventing new mayors in the country's north from exercising duties under law and constitution and instrumentalising the local Serbian population to create institutional vacuums, general climate of fear and uncertainty.
Despite these efforts, Kosovo has taken action in recent months to expand the situation following the resignation of mayors in the country's north in November last year, and democratic and legal processes have continued in accordance with law and Constitution”, she has said.
Osmani has also stressed the importance of supporting international allies and continuing co-ordination with them in their efforts for peace, security and lasting stability.
The president has reiterated that Kosovo Police's actions towards the illegal structures of Vuciqi criminal groups are legitimate, in realising their constitutional duties and in protecting all citizens, indiscriminately.
“Kosovo remains committed to the European values of functioning as a civic state by maintaining its multiethnic character and institutions”, the president was quoted as saying.
