NATO Sends 700 Troops to Kosovo

Secretary - General NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, said Tuesday that the Euro-Atlantic organisation would send another 700 troops to northern Kosovo to help eliminate clashes and reduce tensions. “We have decided to deploy 700 more troops from the Western Balkans' backup operational force”, Stoltenberg said ahead [...]
“We have decided to deploy 700 more troops from the reserve operational force for the Western Balkans”, Stoltenberg told reporters in Oslo.
That statement, Stoltenberg made after talks with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store.
He said NATO would also deploy an additional reserve force battalion in high readiness so that they can be deployed if necessary.
Peacekeeping Mission NATO in Kosovo, KFOR, currently consists of almost 3,800 troops.
