The new leaders from the PDK ranks, in Zubin Potok and Zvecan, will be sworn in at different locations.

Where the oath hearings will take place and have concluded with preparations, he has contacted the two mayors for more details.

Ilir Peci, the newly elected chairman of Zubin Potok, has said the session will be held in the Tower of Isa Bolletin.

He said he does not expect any incidents by Serbs tomorrow.

According to him, police security is at the right level.

“We also have some preparation but the big ones are done. Everything we expect will be fine without incident, and the police have the level where we hope to get along. The swearing-in session will be held at the Isa Bolletin Tower in Boletin”, Peci said.

Like Peci, the chairman of Zvecan, Imer Zeqiri, has expressed optimism about the performance of the oath for Thursday.

Zeqiri said the oath hearing will be held in Caber.

He says all preparations are complete.

All preparations have been made, but we're still finalising some. I don't think there's an incident after that everything's gonna be okay. The session will be held at the public offices in Caber at 10:18x1>, Zeqiri said.

Security recognition of the oath of the mayors: Serbian incidents could face Thursday

Unlike the newly elected mayors of the north, security connoisseur Fadil Cateazi has other predictions.

He's saying the odds are high for incidents tomorrow.

He said internationals should pressure the Serbian state to prevent problems.

The possibility of then tomorrow incident is great because it is a great presence of the Serbian state there of their intelligent services who have that opportunity to cause problems. Problems are prevented by pressure from internationals who should feed on Vuciqi, that the key to problems there is the Serbian state”, Cajazi said.

The European Union for Rule of Law mission in Kosovo (EULEX) is closely following developments in northern Kosovo through the presence of its formed police unit and the police unit formed reserve.

They in a response given to Front Online have said that this monitoring is being done in co-ordination with their senior police advisers and other staff present in the area, in co-ordination with Kosovo Police and KFOR.

The level of readiness has increased on the occasion of the oath of young mayors elected in the four northern Kosovo municipalities.

EULEX says they are on alert for 24 hours to react if necessary.

In addition, a Fast Response Force is on alert 24 hours a day in Mitrovica, with very short times of reaction. Considering the oath ceremony, E ULEX has increased its readiness level”, EULEX have said.

From this mission they have said they are willing to support the Kosovo Police, whether this is needed or required.

“The Formed Police Unit of the Mission and the Formed Reserve Police Unit are ready to support the Kosovo Police as the second security responder, if required and if needed, in preserving Kosovo's stability and the security of all its communities”, the EULEX response is further said.

The elections in the North were held on April 23rd, as the results were certified on April 28th, so May 28th was set as the deadline for the oath.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti today has spoken of recent elections in four northern municipalities and the oath of new mayors.

He said that tomorrow, public buildings in these municipalities will also be sworn in by new mayors who have not carried out this procedure.

Kurti stressed that this is not an election, but their obligation and that it is normal after an election process.

While US Ambassador to Kosovo Jeffrey Hovenier has said the elections, which were held on April 23rd in the four northern municipalities, were consistent with Kosovo's laws mandated with the Constitution.

He said the new mayors in the North should enter only the buildings where they are welcome.
