Prime Minister Albin Kurti, accompanied by the first Deputy Prime Minister, Besnik Bislimi, welcomed Germany's Special Representative for the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarrazin, today.
The meeting discussed the post-election process in four municipalities in the country's north, including the oath and the first day at work of elected mayors.
As the prime minister's office reports, Kurti stressed the importance of respecting the results of democratic elections, adding that moving mayors to their working offices and providing basic citizens' services should be treated as normal.
Sarrazin has also met with President Vjosa Osmani, who has said that Kosovo Police's actions against “Vuciqit” are legitimate”.
Osmani has stressed that criminal acts in the north orchestrated by Belgrade-backed illegal structures are aimed at preventing new mayors in the country's north from exercising duties under law and constitution and instrumentalising the local Serbian population to create institutional vacuums, general climate of fear and uncertainty.
Meanwhile, Sarrazin told reporters today that the reason he is in Kosovo today is to convey the message that “we do not allow the Ohrid Agreement to be rejected for foolish actions”.
