Prime Minister Albin Kurti declared today that Kosovo is close to establishing the Sovereign Fund.
Kurti stressed that during two-year rule, they have scored results both in the economy, worked in the fight against corruption, and also said changes have been made to public enterprises, turning them from companies that were at a loss of profits.
At the Kosovo Sovereign Fund conference, co-organisation of the prime minister's office and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Foundation, Kurti also mentioned the main companies to carry this fund.
Our government stands behind the vision, believing that such an initiative will result in economic stabilisation, profit creation for the state amid wise investment, and generation generation generation generation generation generation generation generation generation generation generation generation generation generation generation generation generation generation generation. All of this with the aim of macroeconomic creation based on policy frameworks of clear investments through predictable legal provisions”, Kurti said.
Meanwhile, René Schlee, executive director of “Friedrich Ebert Stiftung”, said the creation of the Sovereign Fund would be a significant step for Kosovo.
“We always strongly believe that this will be a dominant step for the state of Kosovo and create a kind of sustainable economic network. We believe it will be a solid basis for Kosovo's development and a just society. For this reason we have gathered and paid attention, I have the satisfaction that the foundation of these funds is fruitful co-operation”, Schlee said.
