Kosovo egg price lowered

About the same price, these days 30 pieces of eggs are being traded in green markets as well as in minimarkets, brands, and supermarkets. At the main green market in Pristina, the eggs (30 pieces package) now cost the same amount as in the store, 2.50 euros. Meanwhile, supermarkets and large shopping malls where food products dominate, the lower price they are using and using to promote prices (so-called shares), where 30 pieces of eggs on Tuesday, but today they have had the price of 2,59, 2,49, 2,36 euros. However, the actual price of eggs, compared to the prices this product had in December 2022, or in January and February of this year, is a highly valuable decrease.

As it is known, and as media and ASS reports reported, through up-to-date reports of the introduction of food products prices in recent months in the past year, and especially on the eve of last year's holidays, there has been extreme increase in the price of eggs. At this time, in December 2022, 30 pieces of eggs have cost exactly 4.49 euros to 5.50 euros, in brands and minimarkets.

High prices in December of last year have been included in the ASS, according to the report, which on 15 December-20 December a set of eggs has cost 4 euros and 29 cents. And, according to the AKS, it has been found that the largest price movement in the second half of December 2022 has been marked right at the eggs.

None of the merchants, except for speculation, have any accurate explanation for this obvious discount. Many businessmen stress that the price of eggs is low this season in the spring. But, although there are numerous producers in Kosovo and with large poultry capacities, during the time of pandemic and post-indemecim months, there has not happened to be such an emphasisable decrease in the price of eggs in any season.

Market recognisers and the most attentive observers of price movement on Kosovo markets have another explanation. According to them, the cause of such a significant reduction in the price of this product is the import of a large quantity of eggs and the size of the Kosovo market with this product. They estimate that the large offering for eggs has affected and conditioned the current decrease in the prices of this product. It is known that even North Macedonia, Albania and Serbia are big egg producers. And in the early years, Kosovo has often imported eggs from these countries. /Buletineconomic
