KFOR's peacekeeping mission has urged Kosovo and Serbia to take responsibility for the situation created in the north, calling for further escalation of the situation to be prevented.
In a communique. Addressing the media, KFOR indicated that 30 soldiers were wounded Monday in the municipality of Zvecan during the violence of Serb protesters. 11 Italian soldiers and 19 of the Hungarian contingent have suffered multiple injuries, including cracks and burns from explosive devices.
Their injuries, according to KFOR, are not life threatening.
KFOR announced that mission commander, Major General Angelo Michele Ristuccia, is personally conveying the developments.
