Former IPK director: There's potential risk in the north, the situation can escape

Former director of the Kosovo Police Inspectorate Valdet Hoxha has declared there may be potential risks in the country's north, and the possibility that the situation will continue.

He has cited a strategic plan of Serbia and Russia for the Balkan region, and has stressed that developments in Montenegro and Macedonia point to a risk present since 2014, especially after the conflict in Ukraine.

“Serbia and Russia have had a strategic plan in the entire Balkan region, and we are seeing developments in Montenegro and Macedonia, this gives insights from 2014 onward and with particular emphasis following the creation of the conflict in Ukraine is the potential and at any moment can escape the” situation, it has indicated.

Hoxha at RTV Dukagjini has added that warnings of specific talks and events, such as taking over the mandate of mayors of northern municipalities, testify to the delicate situation in the region.

He has said that the urgent call by US State Department Senior Adviser Derek Chollet to Serbian President Vuciq was to ensure that the oath was carried out without incident.

According to him, the situation is very sensitive, but Kosovo has the great destiny of having international friends and co-ordination is excellent.
