Following Friday's developments, where Serbs attacked police and established barricades on the street, they are continuing with violent protests even today.
Security Affairs Knower Nuredin Ibishi has said he is expected to have tensions in the north after taking office by young Albanian leaders.
However, he hopes that a solution will be reached today at the meeting the mayors have with the American ambassador, Jeff Havenier.
The “is in advance, and I think developments have been tense in terms of what Serbs are driven by Serbia. Serbs tend to hinder the work of mayors of three municipalities, today it is the meeting of the mayors with the American ambassador, hoping to achieve a stance about the performance of four municipalities of”, he stressed.
Other Ibishi said the new mayors will be co-ordinated with the international factor where the work process will continue.
“will be tense about how new leaders can develop security work, whether they will go there to municipal headquarters, or elsewhere they can co-ordinate with the international guilty, or continue with presence in municipalities, where there will be continued protests of Serbs pushed by Belgrade”, he said.
Ibishi stressed that the Kosovo Police have done their work professionally, using assistance in establishing mayors in three northern municipalities.
As Ibishi said, Kosovo police have the capacity to continue with the protection of municipal facilities, as tensions from local Serbs will continue, adding that it remains to be seen in what forms Serbs will act on.
Five police officers were injured in Friday's tensions in the north, and four official vehicles were damaged.
Developments in northern municipalities sparked numerous reactions from the EU and the US, which sought to have no escalation of the situation and no provocations on either side.
On the other hand, state leaders Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti have said the law and order should be in the whole country, while inviting local Serbs to co-operate with young Albanian leaders.
