Hovier responds to Conjufca, who criticized QUINT for Association

US Ambassador Jeffrey Havenier has called on Kosovo to urgently establish the Association of Communities with the Serbian Majority.

The head of the US Embassy in Kosovo has said that association is a Kosovo fundamentalist and that it must now be formed urgently.

He has said Kosovo is not being pressured to establish association, but according to him, Americans want to see Kosovo as a <x0-national, sovereign, independent and democratic state”.

He has further demanded that the government consider their counsel.

Also, Havener has been asked that “is the process of integrating Serbs into institutions specifically related to the process of establishing association?

A difficult question for me to answer, what I can say is that I am aware that some Serbs have drawn this parallel and have made this connection. From the perspective of the United States these are two things that must happen. It's hard for me to say what sequence or cause of consequence is. We want to see Serbs return to 48x1> institutions, he has said.

Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca said on Tuesday that representatives of the QUINT countries have heard there can be no establishment of the Serb majority municipalities' association without the return of Serbs to Kosovo institutions.

He urged them to clarify whether they have changed their opinion, meanwhile, accused Serbia of violating the agreements agreed on in Brussels and Ohrid.
