Africa Hoti, professor of political science at the University of Pristina, has declared that the Government of Kosovo would have to propose a draft for the Association of Serb majority municipalities before the one presented by the management team in Brussels on May 2nd.
On Thursday in the interactive “” of KTV, Hoti has said that if there was a proposal from the Kosovo side, the project presented by the management team would not be put on the table at all.
Kosovo's “Government would have to precede this project, which the management team has presented, be fully recognised or not placed at the negotiating table at all because Kosovars would have to design and propose earlier the idea of how they view the foundation issue of all this construction known as Asociation”, he has said.
According to him, Kosovo has been delayed with foreign policy, as even past governments have never seen any co-ordinated action to present a project.
“We are currently facing the consistencys we have shown for years, exactly what Kosovo's friends said long ago that Kosovo would not remain in a defensive position, but to propose something. We are delayed and the delay is not limited to Kurti's governance, it is related to some of the last governments we've had, in particular to foreign policy. Whatever action Belgrade has taken official, we have taken on its consequences or opposition to”, he has indicated.
University professor has declared that the European Union does not hold the same position towards Pristina and Belgrade.
If the report between Kosovo and Serbia is not eventually fully clear, then it is expected that the EU will decide before challenges take place or leave it. This current emergency, and how long before the EU, has taken on greater dynamism from last year, from the Russian-Ukrainian war. What worries me the most is the issue that the EU is doing in addition to pushing the process has an undefinated position because the EU's position to mediate is quite fragile. The EU has the same position both towards Pristina and Belgrade. This undefinated EU position has the impression that is being conveyed even in the negotiation process. If the US, or Great Britain, or Germany, were brokers, which clearly says this negotiation process should end with mutual recognition, then the situation would be completely clear because we know our destination. The EU has so far shown insincere, inconsistent, and that both sides are fuelling their ambitions that they are on the right track”, he has said.
