“Persons, which from May 17th decide for personal withdrawal of the passport, while during the term's appointment have paid the postal service for the return of the passport, will be repaid. In addition, the embassy adds that in the contract bound between VisaMetric and Germany's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Visa Metric is obliged to respect the federal Law's definitions of the Protection of Data and General Order for Data Protection.
Therefore, VisaMetric must operate its IT infrastructure in accordance with the demands of the Federal Office for Public Administration Information Insurance, and it can store the personal data of applicants only on servers within the European Economic Zone. Alphanumeric and biometric data of applicants is sent to the embassy in encrypted form. This data is not stored in the equipment of the foreign servant VisaMetric”.
Furthermore, the embassy emphasises that VisaMetric is even further obliged to clear all applicant data immediately after being sent and ensure that the term is preserved only by name, contact data, and passport number until the passport is returned to the applicant, and that these data then be deleted immediately.
