(3 years ago)On the occasion of the oath of new elected mayors in the four northern municipalities of Kosovo, the level of readiness has increased on the part of police as has the European Union's Mission for Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX). In an answer to RTV21 EULEX has said it remains vigilant and expects [...] ceremonies.
In an answer to RTV21 EULEX has said it remains vigilant and expects the oath ceremonies to follow the example of North Mitrovica and continue without incident.
“Taking into account the oathing ceremonies, the Mission Formed Police Unit and the Formed Reserve Police Unit are willing to support the Kosovo Police as the second responder of security, if required and necessary, in maintaining the stability of Kosovo and the security of all its communities. EULEX remains alert and expects oath ceremonies to follow the example of North Mitrovica and continue without incident. We call on all parties involved to refrain from actions and rhetoric that could change this” is said in EULEX's response.
