After this meeting, Dodik pressed charges against the US Embassy in BiH and Ambassador Michael Murphy, claiming their goal is “the destruction of RS”.
But this embassy through Twitter has said that Milorad Dodik's recent accusations -- “, like most of his claims -- are absurd and with bad intent”.
“The United States and the West are not threatening Republika Srpska or its residents' aspirations for a peaceful, democratic and prosperous future”, said the US Embassy's response to BiH.
Furthermore, the embassy says these threats are coming from Milorad Dodik and Republika Srpska authorities who, says the embassy, “are seeking to remove the entity's fundamental rights and freedoms; enriching themselves instead of working for the prosperity of those claiming to represent; undermine Bosnia and Herzegovina's state and the Dayton Peace Agreement; and make destabilising, demable and dangerous promises for the independence of Republika Srpska”.
The United States has been and remains a friend and partner for all the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our policy here is clear and direct and has been for 28 years: The United States supports Bosnia and Herzegovina's sovereignty, territorial integrity and multiethnic character, as well as its integration into Euro-Atlantic institutions”, the US Embassy in BiH stressed through a Twitter post.
