The United States is <x0.0 were deeply concerned with” that a senior UN diplomat met with Maria Lvova-Belova, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court for a alleged scheme to expel Ukrainian children to Russia, the State Department said Wednesday, CNN reports.
“We are deeply concerned that a senior UN diplomat met with a fugitive, subject to an ICC warrant for committing war crimes against children”, said spokesman Matthew Miller, repeating claims that “Russia is forcibly driving children from Ukraine”.
“They are denying parents and legal managers access to those children... and giving children from Ukraine Russian passports and trying to remove some of their identity”, Miller added.
