Germany's Foreign Ministry has reacted to the situation in northern Kosovo, strongly condemning the attacks by Serb protesters on KFOR members.
Likewise, Germany has called for the situation to escalate in the north and calling for the return of Kosovo and Serbia to the negotiating table.
Furthermore, Germany's MPJ has said Kosovo and Serbia should implement the agreements reached, including the one for the Serb majority municipalities' association.
” Want with stronger expressions of violent attacks unacceptable in northern Kosovo this afternoon, causing the injuries of dozens of KFOR/NATO soldiers and several civilians. Our thoughts are with those who are injured, to whom we wish rapid healing”.
“We call for the immediate halt to any violence and any action that fuels tensions. Deceleration now is urgently needed. We call on Kosovo and Serbia to engage in talks on this goal without any further delay and to continue working on implementing the normalisation agreement reached in February and March, including the Association of Serb-run municipalities. We fully support EU Special Representative Miroslav Lajčák in his efforts to cut tensions”, the German MPJ statement said.
