So declared Begaj after meeting with US senators, US senators Chris Murphy and Gary Peters.
“Normising relations between Kosovo and Serbia, with mutual recognition at the centre, would have a very positive impact on the security and progress of the Western Balkan region”, Begaj underlined.
He welcomed the visit of two American senators and praised the American Congress's growing attention and interest in developments in the Western Balkans region.
Begaj, also praised excellent relations with the United States and underlined that for Albania and Albanians, the United States remains their main strategic partner and friend and ally.
The head of the Albanian state welcomed the very good co-operation the two countries have had, especially during the past two years at the United Nations Security Council, where they have undertaken joint initiatives to condemn unprotested and untested Russian military aggression in Ukraine through various resolutions.
In this context, Begaj also stopped from the new challenges facing the Western Balkan region, as well as the increasing threatening activity by third acts of maliciousness towards Euro-Atlantic developments in the region.
He also expressed gratitude for the co-operation and support the specialised American agencies are providing for coping with cyber attacks, aimed primarily at damaging the digital infrastructure of the Albanian state.
US Senators Chris Murphy and Gary Peters accompanied the meeting by US Ambassador to Albania Yuri Kim.
