ZPS hands over public editing version of the preliminary file to Thaci and others

The Office of Specialised Prosecutor (ZPS), on April 3, 2023, delivered the public editing version of the correct preliminary file in the case against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi.

This was made known by the announcement published on the official page of Kosovo Specialised Chambers ( DESK, reports “Justice Vow”.

In contrast, according to the order of February 13, 2023, the court had demanded that for any protocold presentation mentioned in the paragraphs of this order, the SPS present within April 3, 2023: (a) the reasons it has for preserving the existing pre-conception rate; (b) the correspondingly edited public version; or (c) a statement that protocol prosecution can be re-classified as public in the current state.

Meanwhile, Thaci's defence, Veselin, Selimi and Krasniqi are expected to present the same within May 8th 2023.

Otherwise, at the April 3, 2023 session, the opening word was given by the Specialised Prosecutor's Office and the defender of the victims, Simon Laws.

Also, in that same session, after reading the SPS-changed indictment, former President Hashim Thaci, former Prime Minister Kadri Veselin and Jakup Krasniqi, as well as former delegation Rexhep Selimi, were acquitted of criminal acts being placed on him.

The April 4th 2023 session, on the other hand, continued with Thaci's opening statement, Veselin and Selim, as well as unannounced statements.

In the case of Thaci and others, 140 people have been admitted as victims in the judicial process.

While presenting evidence, including calling witnesses from the SPS, will begin on 11 April.

Otherwise, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office, on September 30th, 2022, has handed over the confirmed amended indictment against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, which consists of ten points of charges, where the latter are charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity.

On April 29th 2022, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office had handed over a amended indictment to Hashim Thaci, Kadri Wessel, Rexhepi and Jakup Krasniqi, where four indictees have committed war crimes even in Gjilan, Budakov and Semtish.

On November 9th 2020, in their first appearances, Hashim Thaci's Jakup Krasniqi has been declared innocent of the charges placed on them. Wessel has also been declared in his presentation on November 10th, as has Rexhep Selimi on November 11th.

The incident against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi is confirmed on October 26, 2020.
